Could it be funny what makes you cry too?

The misfortunes of others have always provided a great source of comedic material. The escapades of the famous silent screen actors illustrate this point. The near obliteration of many a cartoon character adds credence to my theory. How many of us have laughed our heads off when some unsuspecting character gets hit with a custard pie, gets whacked across the head by a swinging plank, slips on the proverbial banana or hit on the head by a falling brick? The movie "Home alone" made continual use of all these ancient comedic actions.

Only the other day whilst wearing my DIY costume I fell off my ladder and ended up sprawled across the floor covered from head to toe in white ceiling paint. Hearing my loud expletive as I crashed to the ground my wife rushed to my aid. "Are you alright?" "Yes, I think so." I replied and we both burst into uncontrollable laughter.

Later as she held my hand as I lay in the hospital bed we were both crying.

But she couldn't hear my wails of anguish. I was in a coma.

Excellent! You managed to bring a smile to my face, and you jarred my emotions with the ending. It engaged my senses. But Ron, I don't know, there's something not right about it and I think it's the line when he says, "Yes, I think so."

An almost perfect flash.

Points 3 - Very promising piece of writing

This is like a picture of the painted clown with a tear rolling down his face. I guess your laughter was of the hysterical sort and was only funny in retrospect. A custard pie wouldn't have hurt so much!

Well done. That's the third month in a row isn’t it?
Fully deserved.
