Leaf of Detachment
Jamie feels love and euphoria... He wonders what
beautiful mystery awaits him, as he nestles into the warmth of his parent skin,
wrapped tightly around him. The feeling of safety; complete
and utter bliss.
As the days go by, Jamie feels the need to stretch out, to absorb the air and
sunrays around him. The nutrients and minerals soaking into
the creases of his wellbeing. The reaction makes him feel strong and
healthy. And now he can feel the energies of many other beings just like himself.
Jamie knows he has the responsibility to feed the next generation so he
stretches out everyday growing bigger and stronger. It feels great to process
the food and pass it on. Little nodes appear and begin to grow. He is thankful
to have some young of his own, to be assured of a place in the future.
The little nodes begin to stretch and as they do Jamie feels his energy slip
from him. Day by day he feels the changes happening. He is on top of the world
and his young are strong and healthy. Yet the higher he goes the weaker he
feels.
One morning he wakes up and stretches out, the feeling is different, colder and
the connection to his family is loosening. He knows the time has come for him
to move on. The hardest part of his mystery awaits him, saying goodbye.
As the thought crosses his mind, a strange sensation takes him by surprise. He
can no longer hold on and feels himself disconnect. The feeling of swirling
motion takes over. He lies in the bed of his ancestors having successfully
completed his beautiful mystery.
