Practically Speaking!
Well - practically speaking. There are all
these people spinning, weaving, and dancing, trying to balance on very thin
blades. Not to mention falling on a very hard surface. What happens
if a blade breaks, or a shoe-lace snaps or they fall, or crash into a very
large tree or even larger pillar? Has anyone thought of the consequences?
Are there paramedics concealed waiting for a '911'? Or do all these people
appear out of nowhere and zoom off into the night without a care in the world,
and buzz around on the ice and then… well exactly what then? Do they just
go and have coffee or take in a movie or have a hot pancake on the
sidewalk? What do they do? Where do they go? Are these normal
workers ending a long day on the ice? Does everyone carry a pair of
skates just for a quick 'spin' after work? Does anyone stop to
think? That is what surged through my mind - should I have been thinking
of all the fun? Probably, but then I would not be practically speaking.

Congratulations – the first person
who accepted the challenge! I enjoyed your humour. The story, I guess, would be
in answering all the questions that surged through your mind… |

Well done Marie Grace. I like your
play on words. I can see that what you wrote could be translated into the
metaphors of poetry. Can I dare you to give it a try? |
